Unfortunately, I know no more about this dam line than I learned from researching the names of the horses in order to create the progency chart and associated tables. Hopefully someone who is more knowledgeable than I will share his/her knowledge of this strain/dam line at some point in the future. Until then, I hope that the research presented on these pages has helped you to learn about this dam line, strain, and Al Khamsa horses.

Update 10/2009: In all likelyhood this damline will achieve 'rare' status within the next year. With the current economy, it is understandable why fewer horses are being bred. This dam line is still strong and has sufficient young mares to increase the numbers in this dam line if mare owners remember to breed for Al Khamsa foals when the economy improves

Update 12/2008: This dam line is, unfortunately, getting ever closer to being considered a 'rare' dam line. Although it is discouraging to delete horses, there were signs of hope for this dam line. There are still breeders who are breeding mares to continue this dam line. There is even one farm that is racing horses of this strain! Who says that a horse can't be of preservation bloodlines AND an athlete? Ha! Before 'Al Khamsa' was a recognized group of horses, horses of the bloodlines later known as Al Khamsa were bred because they were riding horses and athletes. Congratulations to Red Cloud Farms and thank you for proving that 'preservation' is about breeding great performance horses, not just preserving names in a pedigree.
