Saqlawi Al'Abd/Domow

Domow is a daughter of *Wadduda and as such doesn't really need to be researched as an individual dam line. What makes Domow interesting is that her dam is chestnut and her recorded sire is also chestnut - and Domow is a bay. As anyone with with any familarity with Arabian color genetics is aware, two chestnut parents can not produce a bay foal. Under ordinary circumstances, when a foal is clearly not sired by the stallion who was the recorded sire, the foal would not be deemed Al Khamsa. However, in this instance, the only alternative stallion who could be her sire was also Al Khamsa. This incident has been covered in much greater detail in an article written by Michael Bowling. If I ever have some time on my hands (pause for hysterical laughter), I will cover Domow's story in much greater detail.
